The owner of Hits Design Gallery, the Dutch artist Alvin Silvrants...
... always related to Art. When he was a young boy he began to copy illustrations from European comic books like Lucky Luke, Asterix and Suske & Wiske. Even at a young age his parents and schoolteachers would always compliment him on his drawing talent and would encourage him to further develop his skills to earn a living as a commercial illustrator in later life. In his teens he began to discovered US comics like Spiderman and X-men. When the time came to go to college he would get degrees in ”Painting & Commercial drawing” and ”Illustration & Graphic design”.
After ten years of working as an Art-director for a couple of advertising agencies he started his own design and illustration studio ”Hits-design”. He would mostly design visuals and illustrate children’s books. For friends and relatives he would make paintings inspired by the Belgian artist Don Ken as gifts and everybody encouraged him to sell paintings to the grand public. So in 2017 he listed some art on the Dutch Ebay owned ”marktplaats.nl”. The paintings sold very well and a couple of Art Galleries contacted him to do some pieces for them. After successful recognition by these art professionals he decided to start painting fulltime and become a professional pop/street artist. Since then his art sold all over the world from Holland and Belgium to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Hongkong and the USA. His work is displayed internationally at the Addictive Arts House Gallery in West Palm Beach Florida, USA and the LA Street Galerie in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Using mostly spray paint and acrylic paints his art includes elements of the world of advertising and (sexy) pop culture. Inspired by beautiful women in general, (Pop) artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Don Ken, Herman brood and comic book artists like John Romita Sr, Morris, Hergé, Daniel Henrotin (Dany) and Frank Cho, his style is rooted with personal philosophy, freedom of expression (sometimes a little sexy) combined with childhood innocence.
In 2021 "Hits-design" changed in "Hits Design Gallery". An art gallery which also sells and accepts pieces from other talented artists.
